ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Rosemarie. I began shooting film in 1998 and instantaneously fell in love with documenting everything beautiful in this world.
Twenty-two years ago, I fell in love with a stranger in a dimly lit room at a Yellowcard concert. Being an musician himself, he has always supported my creative pursuits and has been able to tolerate the (infinite) demands of a creative work schedule.
We’ve spent our years traveling, experiencing life, losing ourselves in music and sunshine, and now are building the next chapter of our lives with our 4 and 6 year old in New England.
In 2022 my husband and I took over the dental practice he has been with for the last decade in Scarsdale Village, NY. This opportunity has allowed us to combine our passions for aesthetics, wellness and human service. When I am not immersed in my work, you’ll find me helping out behind the scenes.
WHY
PHOTOGRAPHY?
We have all lost something or someone to time. Maybe it’s the noise in our heads, the inevitable distraction that prevents us from truly living though our days, the pace at which weeks become years.
The value we hold for our memories and the way we relive them becomes more meaningful as we pass through years.
In 2014, I moved away from my career as a psychotherapist specializing in brain function and emotional processing to become a full-time artist.
The combination of my technical skill, ability to anticipate moments, warmth that puts my clients at ease, and my human desire to connect deeply and directly with people (not so much on social media) defines my work.
Born from the days of film, I am a strong advocate of printed work to hold in your hand and pass on through generations, but offer both heirloom and digital options.
ABOUT MY WORK
I've been photographing weddings + families since 2009 across the states and internationally.
I am honored to have received The Knot & WeddingWire's Best of Weddings and Hall of Fame Award for 2016 -2024 , and while I am grateful each year, I am not a conventional “wedding photographer” and I do not “take pictures”.
I create art with my clients for them to hold onto their life’s moments, forever.
Growing with my couples as they become families and helping them write the story of their lives allows me to have the much desired variation I do in my work.
These days, I mostly work closer to home for weddings, portraits and commercial projects throughout New York City, the Hudson Valley, New England, but do venture for select extended travel.
